Mill

Milling systems built around your process

The right milling system improves consistency, throughput, product quality, and downstream performance. From malt, grain, coffee, food ingredients, pet food, and livestock feed to wood products, recycled materials, and other dry bulk solids, we help match the mill, particle profile, and surrounding material handling equipment to your process, space, and production goals.

Roller Mills

Roller Mills

Sasquatch brewery roller mill

Malt Handling is the exclusive North American distributor for Sasquatch Roller Mills, purpose-built milling solutions engineered specifically for breweries and distilleries. Fabricated in the USA and refined through more than a decade of industry experience, Sasquatch mills deliver consistent grist quality, improved extract efficiency, and long-term reliability.

The lineup includes single-pair 2-roll, double-pair 4-roll, and triple-pair 6-roll mills, allowing the equipment to be matched to your capacity, grain bill, and desired grist profile. From compact two-roll mills for smaller craft operations to larger multi-roll configurations designed for continuous production, Sasquatch mills provide the control and repeatability required for modern brewing and distilling.

Each mill provides precise roll-gap adjustment for control over throughput and particle distribution. Centrifugally cast rolls help maintain accuracy and performance over years of operation. Whether you are planning a new facility or upgrading capacity, we can size the mill and integrate it into the surrounding storage, conveying, weighing, and process equipment.

Hammer Mills

Hammer Mills

Hammer mill for distilleries

Hammer mills are well suited for applications that require higher throughput, finer particle size, or processing of tougher materials. Common applications include corn, rye, wheat, livestock feed, pet food ingredients, food products, wood materials, recycled products, and other dry bulk solids.

Malt Handling supplies hammer mills capable of processing approximately 2,000 to 20,000 lbs per hour, with screens available in a wide range of sizes to achieve the required particle profile. The appropriate configuration depends on material characteristics, desired fineness, throughput, and downstream process requirements.

Available features include spring-loaded access doors, dust-tight seals, magnetic inlets, dust-port-equipped hoppers, stainless steel construction, and custom transition pieces. We can size the mill and design the upstream and downstream conveying, storage, dust control, and support equipment needed to integrate it into a complete system.

Bühler Systems

Bühler Mills & Grain Handling

For higher-capacity brewing, distilling, food, grain, feed, and industrial processing applications, Malt Handling partners with Bühler to provide premium milling, grain preparation, cleaning, and particle size reduction equipment. Bühler systems are well suited for facilities that require consistent performance, advanced process control, and room to scale.

Buhler 4-Roller mill Minicompact SE MDZE

Through this partnership, we can help you evaluate and implement Bühler solutions such as:

  • Roller and grist mills: Smartgrist 4-roller mills, Minicompact SE 4-roller mills, and Maltomat III 4- or 6-roller universal grist mills. Designed for malt and unmalted grain, these systems support strong husk integrity, efficient lautering, and consistent grist quality.
  • High-throughput hammer mills: Bühler Granulex® 5 Series hammer mills for distilling, grain, feed, food, biomass, and other dry-grind applications requiring higher capacity and consistent particle size.
  • Cleaning and destoning: Destoners, separators, and grain-cleaning equipment used to remove stones, metal, dust, and other foreign material while protecting downstream processing equipment.
  • System integration: We design the surrounding material handling layout, including receiving, storage, discharge, conveying, weighing, transitions, supports, and controls, so Bühler equipment operates as part of a unified, installation-ready system.

Whether you are expanding capacity or building a new facility, we help determine when a Bühler solution is the right fit and design the upstream and downstream equipment needed to support it. The result is a coordinated milling and material handling system built around your workflow, throughput, and long-term production plans.

Used Equipment

Used Equipment

In addition to new milling and material handling equipment, Malt Handling can occasionally source used or surplus components for breweries, distilleries, food processors, agricultural facilities, and other bulk solids operations. Availability varies, but used equipment can be a practical option for projects with tighter budgets, temporary capacity needs, or phased upgrades.

Depending on availability, equipment may include roller mills, hammer mills, augers, conveyors, storage components, dust collection equipment, or other material handling machinery. Many items become available through plant upgrades, production changes, facility closures, or system replacements.

We do not maintain a complete online catalog of used equipment. Instead, we review the application, material, capacity, layout, and process requirements to determine whether a used component is appropriate and what modifications may be needed for integration.

If you are considering used equipment, contact us to discuss your application. We can help assess fit, condition, and integration requirements and compare the used option with new equipment where that may offer better long-term value.
